LLSOC is enrolled in the Hertz Business Account Program. That means all members benefit by having access to business rates at Hertz locations across the country and Canada. The club's CDP-ID number is: 1422276 and you need this number to get the LLSOC corporate rate.

Cool Brian!
But I don't see the LS listed as one of the discounted rental cars
Luxury class I believe?
Any ideas?

Hertz Prestige Collection is what they call it. Regular price is $75-$100/day plus taxes, insurance, gas, right arm, first born, etc. I have rented an LS a few times for fun. And yes, they are available in Detroit :^) I've got a feeling that Hertz will be out of LSes during a certain week next year

It talks about a 10% discount off of Leisure rates for class G and above vehicles, which includes the Premium group where the LS is.

Interesting detail here:
I called Hertz tonight. They recognized the Lincoln LS Owners Club, however...
According to Hertz Worldwide Reservations, the Lincoln LS (luxury car) does not qualify to receive the discount should you want to rent one! Only the lower level cars. Ironic eh?

That's funny since rule number 1 on the agreement states that any car class G and higher will receive a 10% discount off the Leisure Rates.

More than you probably wanted to know!
So strangely enough, I talked to Amber at Hertz this time.
She was much more plugged-in!
It seems that the $68. dollars a day is the LLSOC discounted price from the usual $79.
She asked me if I had any other affiliations? I said AAA Auto Club.
She looked up my number and said that the AAA discount was greater than the LLSOC? Which one would I like?
So total for 3 days LLSOC Bus. Account = 247.00
Total for AAA Auto Club= 244.00
three bucks cheaper
Now I understand

Just got back to LA from Motown.
They REALLY do have a lot of American cars on the highway compared to California.
The Hertz rental went great. The 02 LS Premium 8 (NonSport) was a great car. The Hertz people added a Never-Get-Lost talking GPS to the car and IT was the hit with my sisters who were galavanting all over metropolitan Detroit. That is until they DROVE the LS
BTW, (rental LSes)they are all a metallic tan color.
Detroit is a good pothole suspension test!
I know the 03s do NOT have a non-sport8... but they should because there is plenty of road feel for those who do not want or need the stiffer ride but still want the power!
I did have a lilttle cat-and-mouse fun with a Mercedes I-75 to Davison(first freeway er. expressway in the US!) to the Lodge to I-94 and this car performed VERY well!
I realize that in the Socialist Republic of California things are just a bit different, but I like the fact that in the LA area I do not have to smell smoke while eating in a resturaunt!
Great car. Great rental, Great experience... But you guys knew that because thats why we're all here!

Same happened with me. I'll need a car when we come to So Cal next month. I'll be on the phone with Hertz later tonight as I always rent from them. Hertz Gold Club is a wonderful thing!

Maybe it hasn't been used in some time and Hertz made it inactive. Brian may need to call Hertz to activate the account.

Brian......Just a suggestion. Add "Hertz" to the links section on this site with the Group # for all to use. It may get more play there, and easier to find.

Thanks for the discount code Brian!
Wife and I are planning a trip to S. Beach and were gonna take a trip down to the Keys and the Coral Castle. Looked up the LS and it's almost $650 for a weeks rental... OUCH
Guess I'll stick with the Mustang convertible for the sunny Fla days for $250 less a week.

Brian:
I used the old number...no luck but when I used the new number 1269808 all the Hertz pulled up was "Lincoln LS Test Drive" with no discounts available.
Thought you might want to know and investigate. :llsocflag:

We've always rented from Hertz through AAA.
One thing I have found is that prices can sometimes drop as the date gets closer. If demand is not there then prices go down.
So our approach is to make a reservation when we commit to a trip but check every week or so to see what is happening. If we find a better rate we simply cancel and make a new reservation.
Sometimes the reduction is significant. And sometimes it's not. Then you hold what you have.

I always reserve a full size car with Hertz (like a Sable), then upgrade at the counter. This always works for me. Last time I did this I upgraded a Sable to an S-Type for $15 a day more--WAY cheaper than reserving the S-Type in the first place.
My wife and I are flying to Cleveland this weekend and I reserved a Sable through Hertz for $67--reserving an S-Type was over $250. Bet I can drive an S-Type (or equivalent) for about $100 when I upgrade at the counter.

I've never tried that but I'll bet it works. If they (Hertz) has something parked that would increase their revenue a bit if it was moving, then it's best to get it moving.

Hertz has expanded the "Prestige Collection" to include 9 additional models.
The LS was a charter member of the Prestige Collection.

I rented two LSs from Hertz and had several days of delightful driving experiences before making my decision. It made it easy!
Sadly, no mention of LS in the Hertz advertising. Even less chanced in the future with Ford having sold Hertz.

That ad was only covering the nine vehicles they added. When last I looked at Hertz's Web site (a few minutes ago), the LS was still in their Prestige list, as are the S-Type, XJ8, Land Rover LR3, and a raft of Volvos, including the V70 and XC.
