I've gotten a copy of Ford's official X-Plan rules and regulations. It is VERY important that we follow these to the letter so as to avoid having our friends at Ford who get us X-Plan PINs getting this benefit taken away from them.

X plan is a discount program for friends and family of Ford employees and also Ford suppliers and partners. The prices are pre-set by Ford and published on the invoice. It's 4% above the A plan price (Ford employees price) which ends up being a few hundred dollars above or below the dealer invoice price.
Other than just getting a good, no haggle price the dealer is not allowed to keep any rebates or incentives and they are not allowed to add ANY additional fees like the infamous "documentation fee". That alone is usually worth a few hundred dollars.
You must get a PIN to use it, and the dealer is not required to accept it but most will unless it's a really hot model. Ford allows their employees to give out up to 4 PINS each year. The partners have their own rules about how those are managed.

aaaah. ok that makes all the sense in the world now.
But how is that going to apply to all of us? Is this something everyone can use or just specific persons?

We have FoMoCo employees here who have PINS available for other members by request.

Brian,
Has there been any allegation of abuse?

Not for us. Ford is letting all their employees know that they need to follow the rules otherwise they may lose the priveleges. Sounds like some other folks weren't playing nice. LLSOC is clean. I just wanted to post the rules so that everyone understands what the Ford folks need to have happen in the correct order so we don't get any of our Ford friends in trouble.

The document says something about titling rules and length of ownership requirements. What are they?

Andy, IIRC the car can't be sold for a specific time. I can't remember if it's 6 months or a year. The car has to be titled in the name of the person using the PIN.
I'm sure someone who's sure of the rules will let us know.

An important point in the document is that you need to tell the dealer up-front that you are an X plan customer and NOT bring up X plan after you have been negotiating with them.

I thought I just explained all that. If you weren't sure to begin with the part about incentives and rebates was a good clue.....

So, is an interest rate considered an incentive? Even though the advertisement says $3000 back or 2.9%, does that mean with X-plan you get both?
I did do a search and couldn't find this exact answer.

No, you get either or, but you also get any dealer cash that the general public needs to negotiate for. There are occassional specials for plan customers, but I've purchased about a dozen vehicles using A plan, and never once hit a "special". FWIW, the holidays are a good time to stay plugged in.

Right about the holidays. When I was ordering my 06 LS, the sales mgr. said that they often throw in another $1K for 7-10 days around Christmas, then it disappears. You have to be in the right place at the right time. This could mean $4G back on an 06 LS plus X-plan.

Just wondering if anyone has an X-plan PINs that they're not going to use? I might be in the market for a new car here and I'd like to make the offer as sweet as possible. Anyone?

Allen,
The package I recently received from Ford says that A-Plan price is the price the dealer pays for the vehicle. And, as you state, X-Plan is 4% above that.
